Richard Manley
Richard qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in 2003. He worked for KPMG for over 5 years, initially in their audit business and latterly in their corporate recovery division working on financial and operational restructurings and formal insolvencies. In 2007, Richard joined NM Rothschild’s leveraged finance team in Manchester before joining Cenkos Fund Managers in June 2008. During his time with Cenkos Fund Managers, manager of the £60m pre-IPO investment fund RRF Ltd, Richard gained extensive experience of flotations, fundraisings, mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Richard holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham.
Daniel Fallows
Daniel is a qualified corporate lawyer by trade and has been part of the Seneca Group as a shareholder since inception. Dan is a co-founder of Seneca Banking - a UK market leader in advising businesses on complex derivative claims, and co-founder of Gorilla Accounting. Dan has a strong background in Corporate Finance, complex banking matters and regulation/compliance. Dan has a law degree from the University of Manchester and went on to study at BPP Law School. Dan is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Tim Murphy
Tim commenced his finance career with Barclays in 1983 where he fulfilled various corporate and credit roles, before joining County Natwest in 1990 where he held a number of positions in structured and acquisition finance. In 1993, Tim joined the Royal Bank of Scotland’s fledgling Acquisition Finance business, initially establishing the Leeds office. He was subsequently responsible for all UK regional teams before in 2002, founding RBS Corporate & Structured Finance. As Joint Managing Director, he had overall responsibility for the National Mid-Cap structured finance business, whilst also being a member of the Banks Corporate Credit Committee. In 2005, Tim was hired by Deloitte (Manchester) as a corporate finance partner.
Ian Currie
Ian qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986 with KPMG and has been involved in corporate finance with Peel Hunt & Co, Apax Partners & Co and Altium Capital. He co-founded Zeus Group and at the point of demerger in 2010, the Group had over £350m of assets in a variety of businesses, including corporate finance, private equity, stockbroking and pension administration. Ian sits on the Board of Hedley & Co Stockbrokers, is a partner of Palatine Private Equity LLP and is on the Board of Trustees for the Lowry Arts Centre in Manchester.
Richard Hepburn
Richard is an ACCA qualified accountant with 5 years experience working in a contractor accounting role at Nixon Williams. Richard has a client focused approach and his experience in the contractor accounting sector gives Richard a strong background to advise on the accounting needs of contractors and their limited companies.
Craig Whelan
Craig joined Gorilla Accounting in September 2016 as Head of New Business. He is responsible for ensuring that all new clients and enquiries receive the best possible experience when joining Gorilla. Since 2010, Craig has worked within the Contractor Accountancy sector and originally trained as an accountant, he is a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT). Craig moved into a New Business role in 2012 and held a senior management position at Nixon Williams prior to joining. Due to Craig’s many years of experience, he is able to deal with more in depth questions and provide a top quality service right from the start.
Matt Langhan
Matt is an ACCA Chartered Certified Accountant and has 7 years’ experience working in practice. Having gained a degree in Accountancy and Finance at the University of Central Lancashire, Matt moved into his first accounting role back in 2016 at Nixon Williams. He then joined Gorilla in 2017 and was promoted to a Team Leader role shortly after. Matt is now working as the Head of Client Services and having held a portfolio of clients throughout his time at Gorilla has a strong understanding of the service requirements of various types of clients and businesses.
