A Comprehensive Review of the Best Small Business Accounting Software

As a small business, you may not have looked into the available accounting and bookkeeping software as you’ve been comfortable with the trusty spreadsheet.

You may also have been scared of having to learn yet another new piece of software when you could just stick to what you know.

However, there are now a number of software packages and apps that can help you complete various accounting tasks that may just save you time and hassle. Many of these packages are very affordable and run from cloud-based services so you don’t have to worry about losing your data in the event of a hardware malfunction. Most also come with phone apps to add even more convenience to the service. These apps and online platforms will let you utilise the latest technologies to help streamline your financial tasks and ultimately save you time and money.

There are now a number of packages available, but we have outlined some providers to give you an understanding of what’s available to help you with your everyday accounting needs.

How to compare

The companies listed are not ordered and this is not a comprehensive list, so it is worth speaking to a specialist and carrying out some due diligence to ensure any subscriptions you purchase are suitable for your needs.

Some services offer more than others, so it is worth comparing them rather than choosing on price alone. If you use an accountant, you may want to see if a particular package is preferred as some may help your accountant create your financial statements more easily than others. Some accountancy companies also provide accountancy software subscriptions.

At Gorilla Accountancy, we include FreeAgent with our monthly package meaning you can save yourself time and money throughout the financial process. Get in touch with our New Business team by calling 0330 024 0406 or email info@gorillaaccounting.com.
