Founded to improve the lives of young people at a time of great social upheaval, the Club has grown to become one of the UK’s biggest youth centres.
Each week, the Club delivers a wide variety of programmes to nearly 3,000 young people ranging from recreational opportunities, performing arts and a diverse range of sporting activities, with an overall membership currently at over 8,000 children and young people. They are dedicated to offering young people fun and exciting ways in which to spend their free time. Learn more about the fantastic work of Bolton Lads and Girls Club by clicking here.
How Gorilla are getting involved
Bolton Lads and Girls club recently ran a competition entitled ‘Are you Smarter than a 10 year old’ and encouraged all of their patrons to get involved.
Gorilla, the other patrons and the children from BLGC were all given £100 each, and we were all set a task to try and turn this into as much money as possible in 6 weeks.
The team at Gorilla hit the ground running by holding a raffle with prizes ranging from chocolate hampers to cinema tickets.
We then moved on to more daring challenges! Inspired by ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here’ the team decided to create their very own Bushtuker Trial! We ordered the and crickets, worms and the accountants started asking friends and family to sponsor them to take part!
See how it went”¦
We managed to raise over £700 for Bolton Lads and Girls Club and although we didn’t win overall, we did win the award for ‘The Most Comical Award’!
