It’s a ‘save the date’ sort of occasion for those working as self-employed professionals as this is when the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, will announce his financial plans for the coming year.

The Autumn Budget will be delivered on Wednesday 22nd November 2017.

The Chancellor announced this news through a YouTube video which you can view here:

The Autumn Budget sets out the Government’s latest plans according to forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

Autumn Budget 2017

The Chancellor made the following announcement:

“One of the most important dates in the Parliamentary calendar is Budget Day, when I as Chancellor of the Exchequer go to the House of Commons and,

– review our economic performance

– set out our plans for raising the taxes that we need over the coming years and;

– how we intend to spend them to support our public services.

“It’s also when we set out our thinking on how to keep the economy strong and resilient and fair. An economy that works for everyone.

“I can announce today that this Autumn’s Budget will be held on November the 22nd.”

Last year, it was announced that there will be just one fiscal event as of 2018 – the Spring Statement.
